Our Koa serving and cutting boards are made from solid Koa, not veneers. Each serving board is hand-crafted in our Furniture Workshop in Honolulu, using smaller "shorts" of Koa wood resulting from making our fine Koa furniture. Each of our Koa serving boards is an exclusive design made by our own craftsmen. Like any wood board, this one will show marks if used to cut. Many people choose to use these beautiful boards to serve appetizers, known as pupus in Hawaiian. All of our Koa serving boards show a deep, rich color and swirling grain pattern, unique to Koa. There's no wood more beautiful than Koa in the world. The fluttering curl often found in Koa wood is almost three-dimensional. All our Koa comes from dead and previously fallen trees from the Big Island. Absolutely no trees are cut down to make any of our Koa items.
