Sunrise shells are found only in Hawaii. The best shells are off the North Shore of Oahu. The Hawaiian monarchs walked the beaches of Hawaii in search of these beautiful glistening shells. While these shells were highly regarded across the Islands, only the monarchs and Ali’i were allowed to wear them.

Today, Brian and Kevin Emery are renowned divers for sunrise shells. The brothers methodically search for these shells in waters as deep as 150 feet of the shores of Haleiwa. Each shell contains no life form and needs to be cleaned to restore its luster and natural color.

Sunrise shells vary in quality and grade, based on the symmetry of the radiant pattern, color, shape, and number of curves on the back. Each sunrise shell is unique. The “perfect” sunrise shells are now more highly prized than ever before. Enjoy the beauty of the sunrise forever.
