Banyan Hope by Jordanne PerkinsARTM43260
SHORT ARTIST BIO
Jordanne is one of those rare artists who has a gift to create a multi-level visual experience with her confident, lush brushstrokes and her passion of color. She followed her dream to become a full-time artist in 2002, when she impulsively pulled her bag off the conveyor belt at the airport on the island of Lana’i, Hawaii and started painting plein-air. She showcased her work at the Four Seasons Lana’i for over 10 years and opened the Jordanne Gallery in Maui in 2009. Jordanne received a BFA in Graphic Design in New York, interned with the creator of the I LOVE NY logo, studied under the illustrator of movie posters such as Casablanca and Gone With The Wind in Florence, Italy, and continued her studies in Europe travelling to her favorite museums. She continued over the years to study under contemporary artists and to travel to different places to paint. Jordanne takes on commissions and will give painting lessons, if time permits, out of her Gallery. Her work is unique, different, passionate and filled with soul. With 14,000 paintings sold, her story is uplifting and engaging.
These paintings are focused on sunsets. Due to the recent events of the Lahaina and Upcountry Fires, I wanted to create pieces filled with hope. Hope that the banyan tree will renew and grow even stronger than ever. Hope that with each sunset, begins a new day filled with promise.
