At the age of 26, Tor Chantara lives his life simultaneously in two worlds, practicing the fine woodworking art of marquetry that has its roots in the 16th Century, while learning techniques and ordering supplies via the Internet.
Enjoy the luxurious feel of premium calf-skin leather in our collection of handbags and accessories. The craftsmen of Martin & MacArthur designed our private collection to combine radiant curly Koa and soft, supple calf skin leather. All the Koa is from our own private stock. Every handbag is crafted to elevate style and functionality. The profile of each handbag is clean and simple. The stitching is perfectly aligned. Ample storage can be found in every compartment of each handbag. Fully-lined with elegant satin. We specially-selected zippers that are strong, sturdy and durable, not flimsy.
Each of our Koa-Leather handbags is made in Hawaii by our own craftsmen in Hawaii. We have been making fine Koa furniture for over 50 years, longer than any other company in the history of Hawaii. We buy more Koa than any other company in Hawaii. It all comes from previously dead and fallen trees. Absolutely no Koa comes from live trees. In fact, we are at the forefront of reforesting Koa in Hawaii. Through our partnership with Hawaii Legacy Hardwoods, we are helping plant over 25,000 new Koa trees on the Big Island each year, in an area that was once a Koa forest owned by King Kamehameha, the Great.
