Wayne Omura is a self-taught lathe-turn craftsman in Maui. Wayne began bowl turning in the early 1980’s. Wayne loves to feature the natural colors and grain pattern of Hawaiian woods in his vessels.  No two pieces are alike. He prefers to work with Norfolk Island Pine and Cook Pine although he does create vessels with Koa, Milo, Mango, Pheasant, and Kamani are also used.

Wayne is the secretary/treasurer of the Maui Wood Turners Association. When he is not in his shop working, you can find him golfing, fishing, or farming.
