Born and raised on the Big Island, S. Isaac Anderson grew up in the water. He learned to surf before he learned to ride a bike. Both his parents are artists and encouraged Isaac to pursue his passion for innovation and creativity. Moving to southern California with his parents, Isaac surrounded himself with avid surfers and graduated from Huntington Beach High School. On occasion, Isaac was applying epoxy on his surfboard and saw how the resin drippings pooled together to form what looked like the Hawaii shorelines of his childhood. Then, Isaac was hooked.
He began creating resin art depicting his favorite beaches using recycled surfboards that he and his buddies discarded. Eventually, Isaac created his signature style of waves rolling in to the shoreline. Isaac now lives in Honolulu and creates his resin art using Martin & MacArthur curly Koa. Isaac’s Koa-resin surfboards and wall art are all signed by the artist and named after his favorite beaches.
