Collection: Emiliano Arcaval

Born in Buenos Aires, Emiliano Achaval has pursued his passion for wood turning for over 30 years on the slopes of the extinct Haleakala volcano in Makawao Maui .  Emiliano loves turning Hawaiian endemic woods such as koa, milo, kamani, and kawila. Lately, he has been transforming charred wood salvaged from the Lahaina fire zone into his lathe-turned series entitled, Phoenix, Rising from the Ashes."

Emiliano's inspiration comes from three pre-contact calabashes made before 1776 that belonged to his family. He shares his expertise as a regular contributor to Woodturning Magazine, the premier publication edited in the UK. He has taught at international symposiums across Australia, New Zealand, and Argentina, and continues to inspire woodturners globally through remote demonstrations.
