Scott Green also creates aluminum casted honu sea turtles in four different sizes. Many kama’aina families display an entire set of aluminum honu sea turtles on a wall, one for each member of the family. The papa turtle is usually leading the pack with the baby turtles swimming behind. Honu are regarded as aumakua, or family guardians, to many Hawaiians. They are meant to protect the family from danger or harm. The petroglyph style honu shown in Scott Green’s aluminum wall decor reflect the carvings on lava rock made by early Hawaiians. Many petroglyphs can  still be seen by visitors to the Big Island.
