Glass artist Ben Silver creates the most extraordinary glass sculptures. His designs of colorful sea life and cresting waves capture the beauty of these natural shapes with Ben’s own colorful style.
Ben began glassblowing in 2007 at the Eugene Glass School. He has attended the Pilchuck Glass School as well as Corning Museum of glass for further education with some of the best teachers in the country. "The learning never stops", says Ben. "Glass is possibly the most difficult medium to master, but it's also an endless opportunity to expand, which is why I love it."
Ben currently lives in Oregon where he has his own glass studio. He visits Hawaii often to get inspiration from what he calls “paradise on Earth.”
Sculpted hot glass into a realistic representation of an old rusty anchor and two beautiful crabs. The anchor displays a technique of adding colored powder to the surface to obtain the rust and texture, as well as some irridescent highlights mixed in. Excellent marine life sculpture and antique feel. The piece works well on tabletop or floor.
