Born and raised in Carmel, Calif., Laura spent her teen years on Cape Cod, Mass. Busy raising four kids as a single mom in Spokane, Wash., it wasn't until her last one was a senior in high school in 2006 that she discovered a talent waiting to be expressed. With no formal art training, she uses her everyday surroundings to study the interplay of light and color.
Discovering new colors, whether replicating nature or embellishing on it, is a constant source of inspiration for her. She has a passion for bringing bright bold colors and richly textured strokes to the canvas.
