Glass Bowl "Kai" by Jonathan Swanz

Jonathan Swanz has been crafting glass art for over 20 years, refining his glass techniques of blowing, casting, carving, and sculpting. After teaching sculpture and glass at UH for 10 years, Jonathan moved from Oahu to Big Island to build his own glass studio.  After a lot of hard work and support from the local community, he created a new collection featured exclusively at Martin & MacArthur inspired by the fluid colors and hues of Hawaii’s rich flora and fauna.

Jonathan has worked with exceptional artists across Europe and the US, including Paris, Venice, Copenhagen, New York, Seattle, and Chicago. He has completed extensive commercial and residential architectural commissions in Honolulu, HI, Cincinnati, OH, Indianapolis, IN, Louisville, KY, and New York, NY, and has pieces in the permanent collections of The Hawaii State Art Museum Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children and Park Lane of Honolulu, HI, 21C Museum and Hilliard Lyons of Louisville, KY, the Headley Whitney Museum of Lexington, KY, and PNC Bank of New York, NY.
